CSRC UIN Jakarta Held Moderate Islam Workshop

Jakarta, UIN NEWS Online—In order to promote Islam Rahmatan Lil’ alamin values, network building inter-pesantren and potential stakeholder, socialization and publication of moderate Islam in Indonesia, and in promoting peace, tolerance, human rights and peaceful resolution of the conflict. Therefore, CSRC UIN Jakarta held a national workshop with the theme of “Pembentukan Aliansi Pondok Pesantren se-Jawa dalam Mempromosikan Islam Moderat”, this activity was held on Wednesday-Friday (7-9 / 06), held at Hotel Ibis Arcadia, Central Jakarta . This was conveyed by the Director of CSRC UIN Jakarta Ifran Abubakar MA to UIN News Online on Wednesday, (6/7).

Irfan added that the workshop which was the result of cooperation with Konrad Adenaeur Stiftung (KAS) Jakarta, European Union and Ministry of Home Affairs was filled with seminar which presented expert speakers, including Prof. Dr. Azyumardi Azra MA, Dr. Abdul Mu'thi MA, and KH Masdar F. Mas'udi.

“Besides seminar, direct government dialogue will also be held, in a form of Visitation to Ministry of Religious Affairs Republic of Indonesia, and Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) RI,” said Irfan.

All of this, Irfan continued, was conducted to provide input on new initiatives to promote and promote peace, tolerance, human rights and peaceful settlement of conflict as well as to  promote moderate Islam in Indonesia and how to maximize the role of pesantren in synergy and network with the government in the effort.

The results of the monitoring team of UIN Online NEWS at the recorded location, the workshop of the formation of this alliance involves at least 30 caregivers / leaders of Pondok Pesantren as active participants from East Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, West Java and Jakarta.

They are all the participants who during the Pesantren For Peace (PFP) program became PFP strategic partners in conducting various activities, such as research, workshop, training, field trip, to organizing activities in the grant scheme in each region

For info, at the end of the activity, all participants will formulate and by the consensus to decide on alliance format and draft declaration of alliance which then continued to the Declaration Alliance of Javanese Pesantren in Promoting Human Rights, Peaceful Conflict and Moderate Islam Conflict.

We all hope that this activity can increase the stronger alliance of pesantren in order to voice the Islamic rahmatan lil'alamin values. (usa)
