According to rector, this event raised the theme on the importance of research advancement for the ummah. Historically, the advancement of Islam and science cannot be separated from a study conducted by former Islamic scientists.

“We are all know that all Islamic Scientist such Imam Nawawi, Imam Syafi’i, and other scientists conducted serious research to produce beneficial works for the ummah,” said Dede.

To further develop the science in UIN Jakarta, both quality and quantity of research and SCOPUS-indexed scientific publications are needed to be improved. “Hopefully, these publications results will be able to boost the beneficial scientific development for the ummah,” he continued.

At the same place, Prof. Dr. Ali Gufron Mukti in his presentation said that research and writing is a very important aspect in developing the science, especially in educational institutions.

“Islam and science can be more developed if we keep conducting a research, writing, and publishing scientific publication. Islam teaches us to do that, as the first verse of the Qur'an came down was a suggestion to read and continue to study,” said Ali.

Therefore, we must continue to study and develop the science by further intensifying the research and publication for the beneficial of ummah. “I also congratulate UIN Jakarta who has published 500 SCOPUS-indexed scientific journals,” he added. (usa)
