Along with YLBHI-PERADI, FSH UIN Jakarta Organize Anti-Corruption Advocacy Training

FSH, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) UIN Jakarta in collaboration with the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute Foundation (YLBHI) and the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) holds Anti-Corruption Advocacy Training, Friday-Thursdaym (18-30 August, 2017). This activity is held in order to strengthen the commitment from the advocates in rejecting the corruption practices in law and justice institution.

This was conveyed by FSH UIN Jakarta Laboratoy of law Coordinator, Hidayatullah MH to UIN News Online, Monday (8/21/2017). According to Hidayatullah, the activities have been started since Friday, (8/18/2017) with the signing of the cooperation between the Vice Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta Dr. Yayan Sopyan SH MH, Chairman of YLBHI Asfinawati SH, and Chairman Peradi Luhut M. Panggaribuan SH MH at LBH Building Jakarta. “Alhamdulillah, the activities have been started on since last Friday,” said Hidayatullah.

The training itself will provide material about the function and role of advocate organizations, professional code of ethics advocate, handling criminal and civil cases, human rights, understanding and the impact of corruption, as well as to handling sharia economic cases.

The training also presented several speakers, including Chairman of DPN Peradi Honorary Board Leonard P. Simorangkir SH, lawyer and owner of Frans Winarta & Partners Prof. (Hon) DR. Frans Hendra Winarta, SH, MH, and former Commissioner of KPK Chandra Hamzah and Bambang Widjajanto.

Separately, Asfinawati revealed, this Anti-Corruption Advocacy Training was held for the first time since YLBHI was established. This training also purposed only for advocates who have worked for at least two years. There are about 30 people who participate in the training. They come from various regions, such as LBH Lampung, Pekanbaru, Medan, a number of lawyers' firm, and the Center for Legal Consultation and Assistance of UIN Jakarta.

In addition to theoretical material, he explained, participants will also be brought to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). YLBHI wants participants to find methods to eradicate corruption as an advocate. “We hope that advocates are knowledgeable and have a passion for eradicating the corruption activities through this profession,” she said.
