Academic Culture Will Be Introduced During New Student Orientation

Rectorate, UIN News Online – Academic culture will be the central theme for 2017/2018 new student orientation day event. The introduction of academic culture is given so that students have the maturity of thinking as a candidate for scientists and academicians. In addition to introducing academic culture, this event will also provide material on the importance of Bela Negara (State Defense) for the new students.

This was conveyed by Vice Rector III For Student Affairs UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Yusran Razak MA leading the pre-implementation coordination meeting of Introduction of Academic Culture (PBAK) for new students of UIN Jakarta in the Main Session Room of Rectorate Building, Friday (4/8/2017). The meeting was attended by vice deans in the field of student affairs of 11 faculties, student affairs staff, and Student Senate and Student Council.

“Academic culture should be introduced to new students from an early age. It aims to enable students to understand the academic environment. Through the introduction of academic culture, students are also expected to be able to finish their studies as well as possible,” said Yusran.

He said, during the orientation, the students will be equipped with various materials related to their studies. The materials provided are related to academic policies and regulations in both university and faculty level.

As for State Defense materials, will be given in the field after the opening ceremony. According to the plan, the speakers on state defense will be presented directly by the Minister of Defense of Indonesia Ryamizard Ryacudu. “We have sent the application letter, now we are waiting for his conformation,” he added.

For information, PBAK event will be held on 22-26 August 2017 and followed by about 6,000 new students. (usa)
