70 Foreign Students are Getting Ready to be a Freshmen in UIN Jakarta

Rectorate Build., UIN News Online–- A total of 70 students from Africa, America and Asia, such as Gambia, Morocco, Canada and Thailand are getting ready to be a freshmen in UIN Jakarta for academic year 2016/2017. All 70 students will be studying at various faculties with the scholarship from UIN J akarta.

It was said by The Head of Center for International Cooperation (PLKI), Rachmat Baihaky MA to UIN News Online on Friday (6/24). “Some of them are still applying for the student visa and permits at their respective embassy. But they are ready to follow the learning process for academic year 2016/2017,” he said.

Rachmat explained, the scholarship which is obtained by the 70 students is to continue the program that has been running earlier. The difference is we are expanding the program so it could be reached by more students from various countries.

 “The scholarship itself is given to foreign students for eight semesters or four years of studies. As for the entire cost of living, will be covered by the students itself,” he added.

As for the study areas, they are taking a variety of study options. However, from a wide range of study areas which is available, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) is having the most students interested to, followed by Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training (FITK), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK).

He also added that the aims of the program itself is to contribute the scientific and islamic role for the citizens of the world. This contribution is in line with the efforts of UIN Jakarta into becoming a world class universities (Ikhda K./zm/fa/Umar Syarif Audah)
