50 Scouts of UIN Jakarta Take Part to Succeed Rainas XI 2017

Rectorate, UIN NEWS Online - At least 50 members of the South Jakarta City Scout Movement Groups 07.081-07.082 UIN Jakarta base will be involved in Senior Rover and Ranger Scout activities at Raimuna National XI (Rainas) held at Cibubur Camp ground, East Jakarta on August 13-21, 2017. The five-year event held by the National Council Scout Movement, is attended by approximately 15,000 participants from Indonesia.

The 50 scouts members of UIN Jakarta involved were selected by the National Council Scout Movement. They will be assigned to various fields of activities, such as competitions, community service, dexterity and skills, cultural exchange, and tourism. Rainas activities will be held in three locations, in Cibubur Campground, Bogor Regency, and Purwakarta Regency, West Java.

"UIN Jakarta scout specifically involved in ceremonial activities, such as opening and closing ceremonies. Rover and Ranger scout involved were chosen from the Protocol Unit by National Council, "said UIN Jakarta Scoutmaster Nanang Syaikhu to UIN News in Rectorate building on Wednesday (2/8/2017).

According to Nanang, the current scouts involved in Rainas committee are keep on practicing physicaly and non-physicaly. In fact, they were also participated in several simulation activities at Cibubur Campground.

The opportunity to perform in national event, said Nanang, actually happen not only at this time. Previously, the scouts of UIN Jakarta were often involved in some other national activities organized by National Council (Kwarnas), such as the National Jamboree and the Level V Competition (LT-V) special for the Boy and Girls Scout.

"I think this opportunity is not only enrich UIN Jakarta scout experiences, but also it would be achievement record for UIN Jakarta in scouting activities at national level," he said.

Raimuna is kind of medium of activities and creativities for Rover and ranger scouts with age of 17-20 years old and Boy and Girls’ Scout with age of 21-25 years old. This event were also become a gathering event and bring up brotherhood from various regions of scouts, which is this Raimuna activities also become one achievement indicator of participants in skills and creativity.

According to the plan, Rainas XI in Cibubur will be opened by the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo on August 14, 2017 as he commemorated the 56th Scout Day. (usa-im)
