Serpong, UIN News Online – Directorate General of Islamic Education (Pendis), Ministry of Religious Affairs Kamarudiin Amin requested that Wirakarya camp activities (PW) hould be able to synergize with community outreach activities. In this case, scouting activities can be correlated with the mission of the three pillars of higher education, especially community outreach.

This was conveyed by Kamaruddin in front of all PTKIN Vice rectors for Student affairs during the PW PTKIN coordination meeting in Serpong, South Tangerang, Tuesday (04/17/2018).

“Scouting activities can be transformed into the better community outreach model, on the contrary, community service programs can also be transformed into the Scout Movement,” said Kamaruddin.

Previoiusly, Directorate General of Islamic Higher Education (Diktis), Mnistry of Religious Affairs Arskal Salim reminded that PTKIN scouting activities can provide many contributions for the society.

“In the upcoming PW, I hope there are some excellent activities that can benefit the community,” said Arskal.

PW PTKIN 2018 is scheduled to be held at UIN Pekanbaru, Riau on May 3-10, 2018 and will be followed by 2000 participants from 58 PTKIN throughout Indonesia. According to the plan, PW will be inaugurated by Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and attended by the Chairman of the National Kwartir Adhyaksa Dault.

For this year, PW will be focused on two locations, UIN Pekanbaru campus for basecamp and Kampar district for homestay locations, including Limau Manis Village (Kampar District), Alam Panjang Village (Rumbio Jaya Sub-district), Aur Sati Village (Kecamatan Mine), and Okura Tebing Tinggi Village (Rumbai Pesisir Subdistrict, Pekanbaru City).

In this event, the contingent of UIN Jakarta will send 30 people, consisting of one contingent leader, five observers, four coaches, and 24 participants. (usa)
