Diorama Room, UIN News Online – CSSN UIN Jakarta Holds workshop for lecturers and staff themed “Pelatihan Pendidikan Inklusif Untuk Tenaga Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan”, at diorama room, Campus I of UIN Jakarta, Tuesday, (07/10/2018).

The event officially opened by UIN Rector Jakarta Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA affirms the readiness of UIN Jakarta to be an inclusive university, providing equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

“This is in line with the objectives of this activity, namely to provide understanding and strengthening the capacity of lecturers and staff in UIN Jakarta regarding educational service quality for students with disabilities,” said Rector.

Rector also expressed his appreciation to LPM and CSSN who have cooperated in conducting this training in order to realize UIN Jakarta as an inclusive campus. “CSSN UIN Jakarta has been incorporated with a consortium of European universities in various activities specifically targeted at students with disabilities,” he said.

Similar feelings were expressed by Arief Subhan as the Chairman of CSSN UIN Jakarta, he insists that CSSN will continue campaigning the rights of persons with disabilities.

This event also presents a number of speakers, Dean of FIDK who also served as Chairman of CSSN Dr Arief Subhan, Siti Nurul Azkiyah PhD (CSSN) Taufik Effendi MEd (M TESOL), Dr Siti Napsiyah Ariefuzzaman MSW (CSSN), Dr. Yunita Faela Nisa, and Yudhi Munadi MA.

During her presentation, Yenni Rosa Damayanti asserted that universities must carry out the mandate of the Act in order to have a special service unit for students with disabilities. Taufik Effendi Med also said that UIN Jakarta should have an institution that provides services to students with disabilities.

Based on UIN News Online observation, the participants are actively participating in the training. Training materials include an explanation of the basic understanding of the importance of inclusive education in Higher Education Institurion, the commitment of CSSN UIN Jakarta, understanding of the type of disability and the form of service that should be provided.
