Jakarta, UIN News Online â€“ As many as 11 Islamic Higher Educational Institution (PTKIN) and 6 Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©s (INSA) France established cooperation in French-Indonesia Technology Summit event, taking place at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta, (3/29). This cooperation is expected to boost the academic programs and research activities of each institution.
The signing was attended by the Chairman of PTKIN Rector Association Prof Dr Dede Rosyada MA, the attachÃ© of Research and Development, France Embassy for Indonesia Prof Dr Ing Nicolas Gascoin DEA MBA, and INSA Chairman Prof Dr Jean Marle Castelan. The President of Republic Indonesia Ir Joko Widodo and the French President Francois Hollande are also scheduled to inaugurate the agreement.
According to records obtained by UIN News Online, the 11 PTKIN that is involved on the cooperation are: Â UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, UIN Alauddin Makassar, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, dan UIN Sumatera Utara.Selanjutnya, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, UIN Syarif Kasim Riau, UIN Walisongo Semarang, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, dan UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya.
While the six French universities involved in the collaboration are: Â Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Lyon, Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Centre Val de Loire, dan Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Rennes. Selanjutnya, Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Rouen, Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Strasbourg, dan Institut National des Sciences AppliquÃ©es de Tolouse.
The Chancellor of UIN Jakarta, Prof Dr Dede Rosyada appreciates the willingness of the Indonesia and French government in establishing the publication and research cooperation. Dede also hoped that this cooperation could encourage the research, publication and patent development on each institution.
Dede also said that this cooperation also allows the State Islamic Universities in Indonesia to be involved on science-based industries development.
â€œThis cooperation will allow the PTKIN to be more active in community science development,â€ said Dede.
There are 11 scientific fields included in the cooperation agreement. Among them are: urban design planning, energy, electrical engineering, mathematics, engineering machinery, robomatics (automation), informatics, physics and fundamental science, environmental science, agriculture, and architecture.
On the same occasion, INSA Chairman Prof Dr Jean Marle Castelan hoped that all 11-PTKIN can be the partner of the French higher education institutions on developing their research as well as academic cultures.
â€œWe hope this cooperation can give a positive effects on academic and research programs of all parties,â€ he said.
The cooperation signatories itself is positively welcomed by all 11 PTKIN Chancellors. The Chancellors of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Prof KH Yudian Wahyudi MA Ph.D hoped this cooperation can support the development of his university that the lead. UIN Sunan Kalijaga, he said, is currently developing the engineering faculty, both undergraduate and master’s programs.
â€œAdditionaly, we are currently finalizing the plans on the opening of The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. We hoped this cooperation can support these efforts,â€ he hoped.
The head of the Institute for Research and Community Outreach (LP2M) UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Arskal Salim GP MA also hoped this cooperation program can enable the implementation of research cooperation through a scheme prepared by UIN Jakarta. â€œWe can use international collaborative research and research fellowship scheme,â€ he said.
Both Yudian and Arskal are agreed that this cooperation is expected to increase the indexed international publication articles or patented products. â€œObviously, this cooperation could makes the PTKIN a few steps ahead in scientific development,â€ said Yulian.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Jakarta Dr Agus Salim M.Si said that his party will optimized this cooperation agreement in enhancing the research publications and patented products in his faculty.
â€œFST UIN Jakarta contributes nearly 50% of UIN Jakarta SCOPUS indexed international journals. With this cooperation, hopefully, we can increase it further,â€ said Agus. (usa)
